Lost Robot Found: Marvin the Paranoid Android Spotted at Riverside Studios Ahead of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Opening

LONDON, [29 OCTOBER 2025] – With just three weeks to go before the opening night of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy at Riverside Studios, a depressed robot appears to have lost its way in London’s Hammersmith today.

This week, visitors to Riverside Studios were surprised to encounter Marvin the Paranoid Android quietly roaming the venue and spotted exploring rehearsal rooms, days before the opening of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy on 15 November.

The anxious android was seen shuffling through the halls, casting suspicious glances at passers-by and muttering about being ignored by less intelligent lifeforms. Staff reported that Marvin appeared “perfectly operational, if a little distrustful of everyone’s motives.”

The sighting comes as anticipation builds for the new production of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, at Riverside Studios which runs from 15 November 2025 to 15 February 2026. The show will welcome visitors through Douglas Adams’ imaginative universe, guiding audiences across pubs, spaceships and alien worlds in search of cosmic answers.

Co-created by Arvind Ethan David, protégé of Douglas Adams, the production reimagines the much-loved story for a live, interactive experience that combines design, technology and humour to celebrate one of Britain’s most original voices in science fiction.

On being asked for comment, Marvin would only say “Brain the size of a planet and they put me on the stage? Call that job satisfaction? ‘cause I don’t. Also who do I talk to about the state of my dressing room?”

Arvind Ethan David, co-creator of the show, commented: ”Marvin has earned his place in the pantheon of great literary creations, smarter than Sherlock, more capable than Jeeves and more depressed than Eeyore the donkey – it’s an honour to be part of the team to bring him to new audiences.  Unfortunately he doesn’t see it that way”

Marvin will indeed make his debut on 15 November, assuming he can be persuaded to leave his charging station
